The opportunity to request up to R$ 6,220 from Caixa Econômica Federal is coming to an end. Until next Saturday, October 7, workers from 12 municipalities in Alagoas have the chance to request an emergency withdrawal from the Severance Pay Guarantee Fund (FGTS), which the banking institution manages.

This option is specifically intended for areas that have received emergency decrees due to disasters such as floods, heavy rains, landslides and other adverse natural events. In relation to Alagoas, intense rainfall hit the state in July of this year.
Who is entitled to withdraw R$ 6,220 from Caixa?
The emergency withdrawal of FGTS is an alternative for workers in the impacted cities who have a balance in the FGTS. The maximum amount for withdrawal is R$$ 6,220, as long as the interval between withdrawals from Caixa is at least 12 months.

In total, 12 municipalities in Alagoas are authorized for this category. Residents of these locations have until Saturday to make the request:
- watchtower;
- White;
- Jacuipe;
- Joaquim Gomes;
- Marshal Deodoro;
- Camaragibe Matrix;
- Murici;
- Boulder;
- Pillar;
- Saint Louis of Quitunde;
- Union of Palmares;
- Lush.

Although Caixa is the FGTS manager, you should not make the request through the bank's app. In fact, interested parties should access the Fund's official app (available for Android and iOS). Then, simply follow these steps:
- First, log in to your account;
- Then select “My withdrawals”;
- Choose the option “Other withdrawal situations – Public emergency” and click on one of the authorized cities;
- Send a photo of your identity document and an updated proof of address, issued up to three months before the emergency decree;
- Provide the details of a bank account (this can be from Caixa or another institution);
- Confirm your request;
- Please allow up to 5 business days for a response.
