However, it is important to point out that the program includes different types of assistance, such as the Basic Benefit, intended for families in extreme poverty, with a fixed amount of R$ 89.00 advanced; and the Variable Benefit, intended for families living in poverty and extreme poverty, with an amount of R$ 41.00 per person (up to a limit of R$ 205.00 per family), and the Benefit for Overcoming Extreme Poverty, which provides the difference between the family’s current income and the reference amount established by the government.
In addition to monetary amounts, the Bolsa Família program offers other important benefits to beneficiary families. These include automatic enrollment in the programs of the Cadastro Único, which allows access to other government social programs, such as the National Program for Access to Technical Education and Employment (Pronatec), the University for All Program (ProUni), and Minha Casa Minha Vida.
Another fundamental point is that Bolsa Família is an initiative that seeks to break the cycle of poverty by promoting education and health. To continue receiving the benefit, it is necessary to meet certain conditions, such as keeping children in school and taking them regularly for vaccinations and medical checkups.
