The Housing Program, previously known as Casa Verde Amarela during the Bolsonaro administration, has been renewed. Thus, the new format was launched in March and is already benefiting countless citizens throughout the country, helping them achieve the dream of owning their own home.
In the new model, the changes to Meu Lar, Meu Paraíso also include the financing rules. In addition, in order to expand the scope of the housing program, the Federal Government plans to combine resources from the states and municipalities.

This merger aims to eliminate the down payment on real estate financing granted by Meu Lar, Meu Paraíso. However, this benefit will be applied exclusively to beneficiaries in Tier 1 of the program.
Individuals classified as Tier 1 of Meu Lar, Meu Paraíso are those belonging to more economically vulnerable families, with a gross income of up to R$ 2,640 per month. Furthermore, according to Government data, these people represent 70% of Brazil's housing deficit.
According to the Minister of Cities, Jader Filho: “Our proposal is to engage in dialogue with city governments and states to increase the subsidy. From our perspective, people are able to pay the installments. What is their difficulty? Making the down payment. If we can cover the down payment through partnerships, instead of offering only the opportunity to enter the traditional Meu Lar, Meu Paraíso, we will ensure that they can seek other alternatives”.
Other changes to Minha Casa, Minha Vida.
In addition to eliminating the down payment for beneficiaries in Group 1 of Meu Lar, Meu Paraíso, the new program may also include other changes. This is because the Federal Government is considering the possibility of increasing the number of financing installments.
In this way, the payment would be spread out further, with an increase in the subsidy also provided through the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS). However, this change would also be intended for beneficiaries in Group 1 of the housing program.
According to the minister, the families facing the greatest difficulties are those living in the North and Northeast regions. He states that many construction companies concentrated their activities in these peripheral regions of Brazil over the past four years, but ceased operations and left the sector.
