This Wednesday (01), the Federal Savings Bank announced a new benefit for Brazilians. Workers with a formal employment contract, born in November, now have the opportunity to consult part of their Severance Pay Guarantee Fund (FGTS).
The method for this consultation is called the anniversary withdrawal. However, it is worth noting that, by choosing this option, employees waive the right to obtain the full amount in urgent situations, such as in cases of unfair dismissal.

For those whose birthday is in November, the FGTS anniversary withdrawal will be available from the first business day of the month celebrated. Therefore, employees born in this month can already start the consultation from today, the first day of November.
Likewise, employees who celebrate another year of life during this period have until January 31, 2024 to make the consultation at Caixa. If they do not do so by then, the amounts will return to the Fund, and the new consultation will only take place in the following year.

To join the anniversary withdrawal, there are two options: go to a Caixa Econômica branch or use the FGTS application, available for platforms Android and iOS. In the online method, the procedures are:
- Log in with your Caixa account;
- Go to “My Withdrawals”, click on “Withdrawal-Anniversary”;
- Choose “Change FGTS withdrawal system” and agree to the terms presented;
- Select “Opt for Anniversary Withdrawal”.
In conclusion, it is crucial to remember that, when deciding to withdraw on anniversary, the employee is bound to this option for at least 24 months before being able to migrate back to the withdrawal on termination. Therefore, such a choice requires reflection and a thorough analysis of individual financial demands.
