How does PIS work?
PIS is a contribution that companies pay to the public coffers. Thus, this amount goes to pay unemployment insurance and salary bonuses for workers.
In other words, the focus of the program is to transfer money to low-income workers. PASEP is similar, but is intended only for public employees.
