See which INSS benefits you are entitled to accumulate. Do retirement and pensions fall under this list?
Accumulating benefits granted by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) is completely admissible, respecting the limits dictated by current social security legislation. Thus, according to current regulations, it is permitted to receive multiple benefits, as long as they are in accordance with the determined rules.

From this perspective, accumulating social security benefits means that a citizen can receive two or more benefits from the INSS at the same time. Therefore, it is crucial to emphasize that there are legal channels that allow the simultaneous receipt of different benefits provided by the INSS.
However, a question arises: what benefits can be accumulated from INSS?
Generally, the combination of INSS benefits occurs when the beneficiary already receives one benefit and, subsequently, acquires the prerogative to request another type of benefit.

However, there have been significant changes to the social security rules. As such, benefits can only be accumulated when they come from different social security schemes. This is particularly true for retirement, making an insured person eligible for two retirements only when they come from different schemes.
A clear example is the coexistence of a retirement from the Social Security Regime (RPPS) and another from the General Social Security Regime (RGPS).

The combination of INSS benefits is permitted in the following situations:
- Pension due to death of spouse or partner from different social security schemes, with pension due to death from another scheme;
- Pension for the death of a spouse or partner, in addition to pensions related to military activities;
- Pension due to death of a spouse or partner from a social security scheme together with retirement;
- Pension for the death of a spouse or partner under a social security scheme, with pensions linked to military activities;
- Military pensions and retirement.
In conclusion, it is important to emphasize that retirement continues to be subject to accumulation with other benefits, except for the permanence bonus, granted to the civil servant who decides to remain active after earning the right to voluntary retirement.
