THE Gas Aid is now entering its final phase of payments. Until August 31, the Federal Government plans to disburse installments of R$ 108 to citizens with Social Identification Numbers (NIS) ending in 7, 8, 9 and 0. However, it is worth noting that this aid differs from others in that it is paid out bimonthly. Therefore, after this August payment cycle, the next funds will only reach families in October.

The Gas Aid focuses on families whose monthly income per member does not exceed half the minimum wage, that is, R$ 660, and who are registered with the CadÚnico. Additionally, those who already participate or want to join other social projects that use the same registration are also eligible.

A crucial detail is the fluctuation in the amount of the aid. The government adjusts the amount based on data from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) regarding the average price of a 13 kg gas cylinder. In August, the financial assistance is set at R$$ 108, showing a minimal variation compared to the amount in June, which was R$$ 109.

Despite budget constraints, the Ministry of Social Development is ensuring that payments will be made until the end of the year. Citizens will soon be able to check their October payments using the apps. Family Allowance and Has Box (compatible with Android and iOS). In addition, number 111 serves as a customer service channel.

Given these facts, it is clear that the Gas Aid plays a crucial role for vulnerable families, ensuring the acquisition of something as vital as a gas cylinder. The pause in payments in September represents a budgetary adjustment strategy, not the end of the program. Therefore, it is essential that beneficiaries follow the calendar and use official channels to clarify doubts and obtain updates on the aid.
