On Wednesday (18), the Civil Defense presented a recent report, indicating that 143 cities in Santa Catarina are in an emergency, with 30,526 residents displaced due to the intense rains. In view of this, the federal government proposed a sequence of actions to help those affected.
In this context, the administration of Blumenau, in partnership with Caixa Econômica Federal, defines the steps so that the city's employees have the option of redeeming the calamity withdrawal from the Severance Pay Guarantee Fund (FGTS), totaling R$6,220.00. See below!

The Ministry of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR) gave permission to the City of Blumenau to allow those affected by the rains to access the FGTS, as long as the citizen has not withdrawn it for the same reason in the last year.

In this sense, Mayor Mário Hildebrandt declared that the administration has already initiated the measures for access to the calamity withdrawal, which is one of the types of fund withdrawal available to registered workers.

- Open the FGTS app (compatible with Android and iOS);
- Tap on “My Withdrawals”;
- Choose “Other withdrawal situations – Public Calamity”;
- Specify the city;
- Provide the documents the system requires (such as official identification, proof of address);
- Choose to have the amount go into an account;
- Specify an account for receipt;
This way, if the credit passes the verification and is confirmed, the amount will be available in the individual's account within a maximum of 5 business days.
