Families registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico) with a monthly family income equal to or less than half the minimum wage are eligible for the Gas Aid. In addition, the benefit also includes families with members who receive the Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC), regardless of whether they are registered in CadÚnico.

Recently, the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) notified cooking gas distributors to explain the lack of price reductions passed on to consumers. Despite the 47% cut in refineries, the price of a gas cylinder has been reduced by only 13% since March last year.

As a result, Senacon is demanding explanations from the sector on this issue. Cooking gas represents half of the budget of low-income families, and recent adjustments have not impacted the end consumer.
