The Minha Casa Minha Vida program is a Federal Government initiative, organized by Caixa Econômica Federal, with the aim of facilitating access to housing for low-income families.
In 2024, the program will continue to be a fundamental opportunity for those who dream of owning their own home. So, see below who can apply for this federal government housing program.
Who can sign up for My Home My Life?
The Minha Casa Minha Vida program is primarily aimed at low-income families. To be eligible, families must have a gross monthly income of up to R$8,000 for urban residents, and an annual income of up to R$96,000 for those residing in rural areas.
There are, however, some criteria that automatically exclude certain groups from participating in the program. These include:
- Loan holders or property owners anywhere in the country;
- Individuals who have benefited from government housing programs in the last ten years;
- Beneficiaries of economic subsidies with resources from the general budget of the Union, FAR, FDS or housing discounts with resources from FGTS.
Enrollment
To apply for the program, families must register with the Housing Registry. This registry collects information about the housing situation of individuals and families interested in participating in government housing programs.
Additionally, it is necessary to keep the information in the Single Registry (CadÚnico) up to date. Thus, registration in the Housing Registry can be done at the responsible entity or local organizer, which also provides more information about the program.
