Serasa points out that Brazilians' debts are with food

Defaulting on debts has always been common in Brazil, but recently, with the emergence of Desenrola Brasil, many people are managing to get rid of their debts. Despite this, a survey by Serasa showed that Brazilians' debts are related to food. 

The survey “Profile and Behavior of Brazilian Debt 2023” revealed that 591,000 Brazilians have outstanding credit card bills related to supermarket purchases. Therefore, see details of this research.

Debts in supermarkets

Every day that passes, more and more Brazilians use their credit cards to make purchases, even for everyday items. Since monthly purchases are not something superfluous that can be put aside, people end up getting into debt. 

Product prices also don't help, as basic food items, for example, remain high. In addition to food expenses, a large part of the debts are related to other everyday items, such as:

  • Clothes;
  • Footwear;
  • Home appliances. 

These items represent 46% of Brazilians' debts. There are also 37% of the population in debt with medicines and medical treatments.

If you are in debt, this may be the ideal time to pay off your debts! That's because Serasa started another Feirão Limpa Nome on October 30th. Thus, discounts can reach up to 99%. Payments can be made via boleto or Pix and there is also the option of installments with interest if the consumer wishes. 

More than 500 companies will participate in this edition, including:

  • Banks;
  • Retailers;
  • Telephone operators;
  • Securitization companies;
  • Financial. 

Furthermore, those who are behind on their electricity bills will also have the chance to negotiate their debts. After making the payment, consumers must wait until the companies cancel the debt. 

It usually takes up to five business days for debts to be deleted, even if they are installment agreements. So, don't miss the chance to clear your name!
