TODAY (24), verification of the residual batch of the 2023 IR refund became available. This amount concerns declarations that were submitted late.

Today, Tuesday (24), the Federal Revenue Service made available the inspection of additional batches of the 2023 Income Tax (IR) refund. At the moment, the number of taxpayers entitled to the credit exceeds 350 thousand. Additionally, the tax authorities will make this payment on October 31st.

The fifth and final batch was expected to close in September. However, due to late submissions, additional deposits for the refund have arisen. Thus, this October, the tax authorities will disburse approximately R$1.4T 600 million to taxpayers. Read on for more details.

Understand how to receive and conduct the inspection

To check whether there are any outstanding tax credits with the Federal Revenue Service regarding the IR refund, the taxpayer must go to the e-CAC Portal, available on the Revenue Service website. After accessing, navigate to: declarations and statements > My Income Tax. There, you can check whether you are included in this additional batch.

In turn, regarding payments, you will receive the total amount in the previously informed account or through the Pix key. However, if the deposit does not materialize, as in situations of inactive accounts, you have the possibility of collecting the amounts within a period of 1 year at Banco do Brasil.

Additionally, you can recover your IR refund amounts via the BB Portal or by contacting the BB Relationship Center by telephone: 4004-0001 (capital cities), 0800-729-0001 (other regions) and 0800-729-0008 (for the hearing impaired).

Which taxpayers will benefit from the residual IR refund batch in October?

Considering the panorama, of the total amount to be disbursed by the revenue, approximately R$1,427 million corresponds to priority taxpayers. Within this group, we have around 6,000 elderly people over 80 years old, 54,000 between 60 and 79 years old, 6,000 individuals with some kind of disability, in addition to 16,000 whose main income comes from the judiciary and almost 120,000 who opted for Pix as a means of receiving and submitted the pre-prepared declaration.

In conclusion, there remains the portion of individuals not categorized as priority, totaling close to 151 thousand taxpayers. As highlighted, this extra batch also includes those who filed their declarations late or needed to make some adjustment or correction, but who, ultimately, are entitled to the 2023 IR refund.
