The Brazilian government has announced new financial aid, in the amount of R$1,412, aimed at mitigating the psychological effects of feminicide on affected children and young people. This program, called Acolher Eles e Elas, is an initiative of the Secretariat for Women of the Federal District (SMDF) and aims to provide financial support to at least 352 minors under the age of 18.
The aid will be distributed directly and will not be linked to other social benefits, thus ensuring additional support for eligible families. This means that beneficiaries will be able to receive more than one benefit at the same time, which can be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this new aid, families must meet specific criteria established by the SMDF. The secretariat team will conduct an active search, contacting families through the numbers (61) 3330-3118 and (61) 3330-3105. Thus, after confirming eligibility, the benefit card, provided by Banco de Brasília, will be sent to the address provided by the family within 30 days. It is important that families answer calls from SMDF or contact the numbers indicated to request the benefit.
Documentation required for assistance
To confirm receipt of the aid, families must present a series of documents during the appointment scheduled by the SMDF. These documents include the victim's police report, proof of residence, proof of relationship with the orphan, personal documents of the orphan and guardian, and a vulnerability form provided by the SMDF. Therefore, this aid represents concrete support for young people who are indirect victims of domestic violence and femicide, offering a means of financial support during a challenging time.
