More people will be able to benefit from Minha Casa Minha Vida; understand

My House My Life is a program of the federal government that helps Brazilians achieve the dream of owning their own home. Recently, the program underwent changes and began exempting the payment of installments for Bolsa Família and BPC (Continuous Benefit Payment) beneficiaries.

Furthermore, another great novelty is that now more people will be able to access the benefit, as the government is studying the possibility of increasing the program's income range by up to R$12,000.

The statement was made by Jader Filho, Minister of Cities, said last Tuesday (7). Therefore, check the current income brackets and see what can change.

What are the income brackets for Minha Casa Minha Vida?

It is important to highlight that the income ranges of the housing program are divided into urban and rural:

Urban areas

  • First band: monthly income of up to R$ 2,640;
  • Second band: monthly income from R$ 2,640.01 to R$ 4,400
  • Third band: monthly income from R$ 4,400.01 to R$ 8,000.

Rural areas

  • First band: annual income of up to R$31,680;
  • Second band: annual income from R$ 31,608.01 to R$ 52,800
  • Third band: annual income from R$ 52,800 to R$ 96,000.

What can change in My House My Life?

The statement was made during the weekly live broadcast of EBC (Empresa Brasileira de Comunicação), together with President Lula. Thus, Jader Filho highlighted that the government is discussing with Caixa the possibility of extending an income range up to R$12,000.

According to him, the idea is to serve more families and he stated that the more people realize their dream of owning their own home, the better it will be. It is worth noting that this idea is not new, since in June of this year President Lula had already said that the government needed to expand the income range.

Furthermore, Lula highlighted that Minha Casa Minha Vida should also be expanded to the middle class.
