Understand the legislative proposal that suggests the new aid

Bill 30/23 suggests allocating a special amount in the 2023 Budget, estimated at R$$ 387.1 million. This amount aims to ensure the provision of essential assistance to federal public servants on international missions representing the Presidency of the Republic.

The aid seeks to ensure that civil servants, workers and military personnel fulfill their responsibilities when representing Brazil abroad. At the same time, the proposal also aims to honor commitments related to other aid and pensions, as determined by legislation and court rulings.

The aforementioned bill aims not only to meet the immediate demands of civil servants abroad, but also to establish a lasting strategy. In the first year under President Lula's administration, the salaries of federal civil servants in the Executive Branch, government agencies and foundations increased by 9%.

The salary strategy for 2024, according to the Central Única dos Trabalhadores (CUT), is bold, proposing gradual adjustments in salaries in the coming years, leveling of benefits such as food, health and daycare among the branches of government, salary equality between active and inactive civil servants, and a reexamination of career plans.
