The federal government has brought forward a significant payment of R$1,320.00. Find out who will benefit!
Last Wednesday (4), the Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), announced several actions to mitigate the effects of the lack of rain in the municipalities of Amazonas, which has seriously harmed residents.
With this initiative, the government decided to bring forward the payment of the Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC) to its beneficiaries. They normally receive R$1,320.00 monthly from the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). The government also decided to make advance payments of the unemployment insurance and Bolsa Família. Who qualifies for the R$ 1,320.00 advance payment?
Therefore, the requirements to receive BPC include:

- Be at least 65 years old;
- Have a validated disability if you are under 65;
- Being Brazilian, whether by birth or naturalization;
- Have Portuguese nationality, as long as you can prove that you live in Brazil;
- Be registered and have updated data in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) for at least two years;
- Have a family income that does not exceed 1/4 of the minimum wage (R$ 330.00) per member;
- Not receiving any other benefit from the INSS, be it retirement or pension, or from any other scheme.
Other assistance
According to G1, approximately 23 municipalities are facing an emergency situation due to the drought in Amazonas. In addition, a landslide caused an entire village in Beruri, a city in the interior of the state, to be swallowed up. In light of this, Alckmin declared that the federal government will provide financial aid to the victims, with amounts ranging from R$400.00 to R$800.00 per individual.

The government also decided to bring forward the payment of the closed season insurance, a benefit for artisanal fishermen who are prohibited from fishing during the protection period for certain species. The payment was originally scheduled to take place only on November 15.
