Caixa Econômica Federal has started paying out Bolsa Formação, an important step for public security professionals in Brazil. This program, part of PRONASCI 2, aims to provide financial support for the training and qualification of these professionals.

About the program 

The Bolsa Formação program is aimed at public security agents and is part of the National Public Security with Citizenship Program (PRONASCI 2). Thus, the benefit provides 100,000 scholarships for professionals such as: 

  • Military, civil and criminal police;
  • Firemen;
  • Prison officers;
  • Criminal experts;
  • Municipal civil guard workers who meet certain criteria.

As stated before, the value of the Bolsa Formação is R$1,900.00 per month. Thus, beneficiaries began receiving it yesterday (9).

How important is the Training Grant? 

The Bolsa Formação program emerged as part of the National Public Security with Citizenship Program (PRONASCI). 

Therefore, it is important because it aims to improve the training and qualifications of public safety professionals, such as police officers, firefighters and prison guards. Therefore, the program seeks to raise the standard of performance of these professionals, contributing to more effective and citizen-friendly public safety, which is essential for the well-being and safety of society.

Criteria for receiving

See the criteria highlighted by Agência Brasil to receive the benefit: 

  • Receive up to R$15,000 in gross remuneration per month, excluding amounts relating to Christmas bonuses and vacations;
  • Not having been convicted of a serious administrative offence in the last 5 years;
  • Meet the specific eligibility criteria for the course offered by the Bolsa-Formação Project;
  • Not have a criminal conviction in the last 5 years;
  • Be part of a federated entity that has signed a membership agreement;
  • Attend, every 12 months, at least one of the courses offered by Bolsa Formação, observing the maximum limit of three courses
