Bolsa Família is the federal government's national income transfer program. This benefit provides financial assistance to low-income families in situations of social vulnerability through monthly payments.
These payments are made on pre-established dates. Their order is based on a specific criterion: the final digit of the NIS (Social Identification Number). Payments for the month of December already have a set date.

How Bolsa Família works
There are mandatory requirements for receiving Bolsa Família. First, the monthly income per person must be no more than R$$ 218. In addition, the family must register with the Federal Government's Single Registry of Social Programs.

The Single Registry is, in fact, a requirement for a series of social benefits. Registration takes place at registration or social assistance service centers in the municipality. The person who registers is the family leader.
This person must be over 16 years old. They must go in person to the registration location with identification documents of all family members, as well as proof of residence. Access the website from the MDS to find out more information about the necessary documents.
