Paraíba and the Christmas bonus: what the legislation determines
An additional bonus will benefit families in Paraíba participating in this important social project. According to data from September, approximately 695,000 people in Paraíba are in the Bolsa Família program.

Law No. 12,802, enacted on October 6, introduced changes to the rule that defines the Christmas bonus. The original law (Law No. 9,973, of April 25, 2013) was already changed last year to include the payment of the Christmas bonus from Auxílio Brasil.
According to the publication in the Official Gazette of Paraíba, the Christmas bonus will benefit those registered with Bolsa Família who “regularly receive the aid in the indicated reference month”.

The value of the Christmas bonus will be R$$ 64.00 per beneficiary and will be credited to accounts, following the Bolsa Família schedule, during December. Currently, 695,418 families in Paraíba are entitled to this crucial aid.
Last year, around 677 thousand families from 223 municipalities in Paraíba received the Auxílio Brasil Christmas bonus, also worth R$ 64.00.
The credits were made between December 12 and 23. In addition, beneficiaries can withdraw at Caixa branches, Casas Lotéricas or Caixa Aqui correspondent points throughout Brazil.
To withdraw the benefit, those selected must show a photo ID, such as an ID card or driver's license, and also carry a CPF and Social Identification Number Card.
Bolsa Família and Christmas bonus schedule this year

Although December is approaching, the government has already defined the Bolsa Família calendar. Following the routine, the government is bringing forward the payment of the last annual installment, ensuring that all families receive it before the Christmas and New Year holidays.
In 2023, the December payment of Bolsa Família will begin on 12/11 for the NIS 1 group and will run until 12/22 for the NIS 0 group. These dates will also guide the payment of the Christmas bonus next year.

- For NIS final 4: December 14;
- For NIS ending 5: December 15;
