Rules and amounts of the educational aid already established
The Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) committed to creating a support program for professionals involved in the annual evaluations of courses offered in Brazil since 2011. It is crucial to point out that the score is only one measure used to assess the quality of a course.

There are people responsible for carrying out course evaluations in order to provide data for calculating the score. Before 2011, this task was almost voluntary, as the evaluators did not receive compensation.
After 2011, Capes introduced the Educational Assistance Program. However, before that, the evaluation of distance-learning courses did not guarantee compensation for evaluators, since it was not included in the ordinance. Now, the rules have been changed to allow these evaluators to be paid.
In addition to the change in the rules for distance-learning evaluations, the amount paid to evaluators by Capes was updated. Previously, the amount was R$ 1.2 thousand, established in 2011, and it has now increased to R$ 2 thousand.

It is important to emphasize that not all professionals can apply to become course evaluators and receive payment from Capes. According to the former ordinance, only employees who are not members of bodies such as FNDE, INEP, and Capes, higher or basic education teachers (whether from private or public institutions), and designated collaborators who participate in evaluations of higher education courses, projects, institutions, among others, may apply.
