Starting the following day, Thursday (31), a new disbursement will benefit more than 6 million Brazilians. The total allocated for this distribution reaches R$ 7.5 billion and refers to the 4th Income Tax refund batch. Thus, the Federal Revenue Service will make the transfers to this group of people.

Those who receive the amounts are taxpayers who paid more taxes than necessary. Now, 94% of these citizens do not fall into the priority category. It is important to note that, to establish the payment sequence, the tax authorities rely on several criteria that determine priorities.

In 2023, the government divided the Income Tax refund into five separate batches. In the upcoming month of September, these payments will be completed. By then, the Federal Revenue Service will have served all taxpayers waiting for these amounts.

The Federal Revenue Service provided information on the structure of the 4th and penultimate batch of Income Tax refunds as follows:

  • 11,960 people over 80 years old;
  • 86,427 elderly people aged 60 to 79;
  • 9,065 people with disabilities or severe illnesses;
  • 30,453 individuals whose main source of income comes from teaching;
  • 219,288 people who chose the pre-filled tax return or opted to receive the refund via PIX;
  • 5,761,117 citizens not classified as priority taxpayers who submitted their tax return by May 29.

The amounts will be deposited into the bank accounts provided by citizens when filing their tax returns.
