What does PIS 2024 represent?

First, it is crucial to understand the meaning of PIS/PASEP. The acronym refers to the Social Integration Program. Under this program, private-sector companies make monthly contributions for their employees, aiming to balance income distribution among those with lower salaries.
Currently, contributions from both PIS 2024 and PASEP go to the FAT – Worker Support Fund. This fund finances programs such as unemployment insurance and the salary bonus.
When a person starts their first job with formal employment registration, the company assumes responsibility for registering the PIS. Therefore, this registration is unique, meaning it remains the same in future jobs.
After five years of formal registration, the employee becomes eligible for the salary bonus. It acts as a kind of 14th salary, proportional to the months worked in the corresponding year.
How can I check my eligibility for PIS?
A worker can only claim PIS 2024 if they meet certain requirements, such as:
- Having at least five years of formal employment registration;
- Earning no more than two minimum wages per month;
- Having worked for at least 30 days in the reference year.

If you meet all these criteria, you are eligible for PIS 2024. Since the amount is based on the length of service during the year, the maximum amount is one minimum wage, currently R$ 1,320.
Will the PIS 2024 amount be adjusted with the change in the minimum wage?
Many workers wonder about the benefit amount. Therefore, it is important to emphasize that one of the government’s goals is to increase the population’s purchasing power. Thus, a salary adjustment is imminent.
The government expects an increase of at least R$ 100 in the annual salary. Thus, PIS 2024 will undergo an adjustment, since its amount is based on the current minimum wage.
How can I check whether I will receive the Social Integration Program?
You can check your eligibility through the Caixa Trabalhador app or the Digital Work Card app. After registering in these apps, follow these steps:

- Open the Digital Work Card app;
- Use your login and password to sign in;
- Select “benefits” at the bottom of the screen;
- Then, tap “check” under the “Salary Bonus” option;
- Finally, choose the reference year and check whether the amount is available.
It is possible that information about the PIS 2024 is not yet available in the app. However, if you meet the criteria, you will receive the benefit. Just wait for the official announcement of the schedule, expected in January of next year.

How to find my PIS number in 2024?

To find out your PIS number, you can use the Meu INSS portal. Follow the steps below:
- Download the free Meu INSS app and select sign in with gov.br;
- Enter your CPF and continue. If this is your first access, create an account;
- Enter your password and sign in;
- Tap the three-line icon in the upper-left corner;
- Tap “Meu Cadastro”;
- There you will see your PIS number for 2024.
One suggestion is to write this number down in a safe place. However, in general, work cards already have the PIS number printed on them.
2024 payment schedule
So far, the government has not released the official PIS 2024 schedule. But it is expected to follow the pattern of the current year. The deadline for the government to disclose the dates to CODEFAT, the Worker Support Fund Council, is December 31.
