Great news for public servants, as the administration revealed that next week will bring their 13th salary. In this context, the payment will correspond to 50% of the total benefit amount, while the second installment should be received by December.

Just as the National Social Security Institute (INSS) chose to bring forward payment of the first installment of the 13th salary, the administration also decided to carry out this transaction in the first half of 2023. Traditionally, this transfer takes place in the second half of the year.
Thus, next Monday (June 3), public servants will receive the 13th salary in their accounts. In addition to active employees, retirees and pensioners will also receive the first installment of the bonus.
Municipal administration estimates spending more than R$ 500 million on the 13th salary
Last week, the Rio de Janeiro City Hall confirmed that it will pay the first installment of the 13th salary in July. According to the city government's estimate, approximately 165,000 people will receive the payment.
Thus, the city government plans to spend more than R$ 500 million to pay all employees on the 3rd. Accordingly, those entitled to the payment will receive the money in the same account into which they receive their salaries, retirement benefits or pensions.
It is worth remembering that the Rio City Hall pays public servants on the second business day of each month. Therefore, the employees' payment is scheduled to take place on Tuesday of next week, July 4th.
Who will benefit?
The city government assures that all categories of public servants are included in the payment of the 13th salary on Monday. Thus, the following will receive it:
- Direct administration employees;
- Foundation workers;
- Employees of autonomous agencies;
- Retirees;
- Pensioners.
In addition, the second installment of the 13th salary is expected to be paid by December 15 of this year.
