The Central Bank reveals that approximately R$ 7.2 billion is awaiting return to its owners. The country’s leading monetary authority provides a tool to identify who is entitled to these funds. Keep reading to understand!

Central Bank releases data on outstanding funds
Last Monday (11), the Central Bank published updates on citizens who have unclaimed funds held by various financial entities. Therefore, 28.8 million individuals are entitled to amounts between R$ 0 and R$ 10.
Another 11.6 million have the chance to receive up to R$ 100. Additionally, 4.6 million Brazilians left up to R$ 1,000 in entities such as banks and consortia. And 814,000 are eligible to claim amounts exceeding R$ 1,000. The total amount available to these citizens is R$ 7,298,565,460.01.
However, the Central Bank has already returned R$ 4,707,519,072.75. Of this amount, 14.9 million individuals claimed R$ 3.4 billion. In the business sector, 649,000 received R$ 1.2 billion back.
How to use the Central Bank platform?

The Central Bank offers a free tool called “Amounts Receivable”. To check the availability of funds, users need to provide details such as their CPF or CNPJ and date of birth. Access is provided digitally through the official website.
However, to make the withdrawal, applicants must have a gov.br account. If they do not have one yet, they can register on the website or via the Android and iOS app.
The refund is made through Pix. Once the request is submitted, the corresponding financial institution handles the operation. Completing this process generally takes around 12 days.
