Have you ever thought about having a Pix credited at the end of this month? Well, since May, the Receita Federal has been paying refunds for the 2023 Individual Income Tax (IRPF). As a result, more than 14.9 million Brazilians have already received the return of amounts overpaid in their tax returns.
The Receita released these refunds on May 31, June 30, and at the end of July. However, the schedule still includes two more IR refund batches to be carried out by the tax authorities. Thus, on the upcoming August 31, another group of taxpayers will receive their tax refund.

2023 IRPF refund schedule

First, on May 31, a group of 4,129,925 taxpayers received their refund credit in the first batch. In the following batch, released on June 30, 5,138,476 taxpayers received their due refunds.
In addition, the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service released the third batch on July 31, benefiting 5,632,036 taxpayers. Consequently, on August 31, the agency will pay the fourth batch. Finally, on September 29, the institution will issue the last tax refund batch.
Which taxpayers will receive it?

The agency will make payments to a new group of filers, following an order of priority:
- People over 80 years old;
- Taxpayers over 60 years old or with a serious health condition;
- Individuals whose main source of income is teaching;
- Those who chose the pre-filled tax return or selected Pix as their refund method;
- Other filers.
Starting August 24, one week before the credit, taxpayers can check the fourth income tax refund batch. To do so, simply visit the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service website and provide the necessary information to check the status.
