Find out what is preventing the confirmation of the disbursement of R$ 2,640 and who can benefit from this support!
The Federal Government is considering the possibility of making a disbursement of R$ 2,640 in the near future. However, for this to happen, the Chamber needs to approve Bill 368/2023, proposed by Representative Duarte (PSB-MA), which suggests a doubled monthly amount for those who receive the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC).
If the Chamber gives the proposal the green light, the doubling of the BPC will not be intended for all its beneficiaries. According to the proposal, only people with disabilities who face the death, absence, or loss of custody by their parents will receive this increased assistance.
What does the proponent of the doubled payment for BPC beneficiaries say?

From the perspective of the PSB representative, parental absence creates considerable obstacles for people with disabilities. Currently, in addition to people with disabilities, individuals aged 65 or over are also entitled to the BPC. However, the bill does not include this group in the increased payment.
On August 9, the Permanent Commissions Coordination (CCP) received the bill, publishing it that same day. Before approval, the bill will require review by the Social Security, Social Assistance, Childhood, Adolescence and Family Committee, as well as by the Finance and Taxation and Constitution and Justice Committees.

While approval of the doubled amount does not occur, BPC recipients will continue receiving up to one minimum wage, that is, R$ 1,320 in 2023. It is important to note that some of these beneficiaries are enrolled in the Auxílio Gás program.
To qualify for the BPC, an individual must have a monthly income of no more than one quarter of the minimum wage per family member. The amount is deposited monthly according to the schedule established by the National Social Security Institute (INSS). See the schedule:
