“Voa Brasil” Program: Travel around the country with fares starting at R$200.
Seeking to encourage domestic tourism and ensure affordable travel for retirees and pensioners, the Brazilian government introduced the Voa Brasil program. The initiative, which began at the end of August, aims to make “Voos Brasil” airline tickets available at competitive fares, starting at just R$200 per segment. Marcio França, Minister of Ports and Airports, announced the launch of this program.

Voa Brasil represents a government project focused on offering “Voos Brasil” airline tickets at attractive prices, especially for INSS retirees and pensioners. The strategy is to fill vacant seats on domestic flights operated by participating airlines, primarily outside the tourist season.
The target audience is retirees and pensioners with a monthly income of up to R$6,800. These beneficiaries will be able to obtain up to two tickets annually through the program’s website and app, whose launch is planned.
Eligible participants will be able to purchase up to two tickets annually using the project’s website or app. Each participant may bring one companion per segment. Those who have not traveled in the last 12 months will have the chance to obtain four tickets.
“If the individual has not traveled in the last year, they will be able to obtain four tickets. Given the large number of interested parties, we will start gradually. The first group will include retirees and pensioners, representing a large contingent. We are looking forward to seeing the response,” declared França.
The Ministry estimates making at least 50,000 tickets available monthly at R$ 200 per segment. The total cost for a couple, considering a round trip, will be R$ 800. It is important to emphasize that the total amount can be paid in up to 12 installments through agreements with Caixa and Banco do Brasil.
The available destinations will be listed on the Voa Brasil website and app. Therefore, participants must restrict themselves to the options shown on these channels.
Is accommodation included?
No. Voa Brasil covers only airline tickets. However, hotels are expected to offer discounts during periods of lower demand, aiming to accommodate travelers in the program.
Are the air terminals ready for the growing demand?
According to the Ministry, airports will undergo adjustments to accommodate and serve a larger number of travelers.

Companies such as Latam, Gol and Azul have already joined Voa Brasil.

Voa Brasil will operate in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, in response to a request from President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The proposal is that hotel establishments also offer discounts during periods of lower demand, in order to accommodate the program’s tourists.
To support the increase in travelers, adjustments to airport terminals are imperative. According to projections by the Ministry, the aim is to offer at least 50 thousand tickets monthly for R$ 200.
