Several citizens in Brazil may benefit from an advance of R$ 1,320 later this year. The governor of Amapá, Clécio Luís, met with representatives of the Federal Government last Wednesday (25). They discussed the validation of decrees declaring municipalities in the state to be in a state of emergency.

Amapá grants fishermen an advance of R$ 1,320
During the conversation with the Federal Government, the participants decided that the ministries would provide financial support to the state to help Amapá overcome these challenges. The governor declared a state of emergency on the 21st, after identifying 10,000 fire outbreaks in a period of less than a month.
Therefore, the advance payment of R$ 1,320 to fishermen will come from the budget of the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture. This amount represents emergency assistance for the initial two months to supplement the fishing closure insurance, which lasts 4 months.
This assistance thus benefits artisanal fishermen who cannot work during the closed season for certain species. The fishing closure insurance amount corresponds to one minimum wage, and IBAMA establishes the duration of this period, considering the breeding season of each animal.

In addition to the advance payment of R$ 1,320 for fishermen in Amapá by the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, the Department of Social Development and Assistance will also allocate R$ 87 million to the state for the Bolsa Família program. Therefore, citizens of municipalities with validated decrees will receive the benefit.
In turn, the Ministry of Health will send an “emergency kit” containing essential medicines and materials to treat approximately 1.5 thousand people monthly.
