On September 26, the Government of Goiás provided 3,761 social benefits to the residents of Águas Lindas de Goiás, located on the outskirts of the Federal District. Thus, the initiatives focus on vital areas such as childhood, education, professional training, higher education, and support for the elderly throughout the federative unit.

At the event, Governor Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil) highlighted the economic impact of these initiatives and mentioned a monthly contribution of R$ 4.6 million solely for social cards in the locality. Government provides social benefits to Brazilians
Initially, the Secretariat of Social Development (Seds) coordinated the distribution of benefits, including the Mães de Goiás program, which grants R$ 250 monthly to vulnerable mothers with children up to six years old (3,131 beneficiaries).
A total of 206 Dignity program cards were also distributed to individuals between 60 and 64 years and 11 months of age who are in need. Therefore, this group will receive monthly support of R$ 300. Additionally, 424 families obtained the Social Rent card, with assistance of R$ 350 per month for 18 months.
The Governor also authorized the expansion of Saneago’s Water Supply System. Therefore, the initiative will receive investments of R$ 33 million and reach 28 neighborhoods. Thus, the Government will carry out 1,523 new household connections, benefiting approximately 90,000 residents.
Protection for women
Furthermore, in a significant move to protect women, along with the assistance programs, Ronaldo Caiado inaugurated the new building of the Specialized Police Station for Assistance to Women (Deam) in Águas Lindas.

Consequently, the objective of this government intervention is to address femicide and other forms of violence against women, reaffirming the commitment to women’s protection. In addition, the director-general of the Civil Police, André Ganga, emphasized the importance of Deam for the area.
He also emphasized that the renovation and expansion of the police station received funding of R$ 585 thousand, of which R$ 412 thousand came from the Ministry of Justice and R$ 173 thousand as a counterpart from the Government of Goiás.
