The emergency withdrawal is available to residents of the affected regions, as identified by the Municipal Civil Defense. So far, 38 locations across Brazil have been authorized to make this withdrawal due to public emergencies.

This encompasses several locations in states such as Alagoas, Rio Grande do Sul, and Santa Catarina. To qualify, it is imperative to have a balance in your FGTS accounts and not have made withdrawals for this reason in the past year.

Therefore, citizens of Marechal Deodoro (AL) now have the opportunity to make withdrawals until October 7, 2023. In contrast, those living in Rio Grande (RS) have a longer period, until October 26, 2023.

To ensure a withdrawal of up to R$ 6,220, it is recommended to use the FGTS app, available on Android and iOS systems. To do so, the user must open the app, enter their information, and navigate to “Meus Resgates”. Then, they need to click “Outras Situações de Saque” and select “Calamidade Pública”.

It is essential to provide details about the city of residence and present key documents, such as an identity document and proof of address. After that, the applicant must choose between “Crédito em Conta” and “Saque no Local”.
