See the updated amounts for October. This October, the Family Financial Assistance Program, better known as Bolsa Família, revised its amounts. As a result, this could mean a significant increase in assistance for several Brazilians. In addition, the agency in question announced plans to make overdue payments to those whose benefits were interrupted but are now regularized.

By combining the Benefit bonuses with the outstanding amounts, in some situations, some groups could receive a total of R$ 2.620. However, it is worth noting that this occurs in specific situations.

R$ 2.620 in Bolsa Família: How so?

The additional payments will benefit those who updated their information in CadÚnico and meet all the criteria. Therefore, the payment process began last Wednesday (18), making the October payment schedule for the Benefit now active.

The amount of R$ 2,620 is intended exclusively for Bolsa Família beneficiaries who belong to families of ten members. However, they must also be eligible to receive overdue payments. Thus, the individual amount guaranteed by the program, R$ 142, can total R$ 1,420, with an additional two installments of R$ 600 for the months when the benefit was suspended.

As already indicated, this is an exception. The other payments will proceed normally, with the new bonuses of R$ 50 and R$ 150 added for certain groups.

Adjusted benefit amounts

With the inclusion of the new bonuses, the Bolsa Família amounts are as follows:

  • R$ 142 per individual;
  • R$ 150 for children under 6 years old;
  • R$ 50 for children and adolescents aged 7 to 18;
  • R$ 50 for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.

These amounts are available through the Caixa Tem app (compatible with Android and iOS). However, beneficiaries can also withdraw them directly from banks, lottery outlets, or Caixa Aqui locations.

Enrollment in Bolsa Família: How to apply?

To apply for the Benefit, you must first be registered with CadÚnico. To do so, find a Cadastro Único and Bolsa Família service center in your area.

Families eligible for Cadastro Único are those with a monthly income per person of up to half the minimum wage or those in a vulnerable situation, even with a higher income. At the interview, it is not mandatory for all family members to be present. If you are over 16 and preferably a woman, you can register your entire family. The person who provides the information becomes the person responsible for the Family Unit (RF) in Cadastro Único.

It is crucial to bring documents such as CPF, ID, proof of address, proof of income, school enrollment documentation for minors up to 17 years old, and a work card when registering. To keep the information up to date, check the registration every two years. In addition, always update it whenever changes occur, such as a birth, death, change of address, or a change of your children's school.
