Since its launch in 2020, Pix has established itself as a fundamental pillar of the Brazilian economy. For this reason, it quickly won over Brazilians, becoming one of the most widely used payment methods nationwide. In addition, Pix has added several new features and made adjustments that make it easier for people to manage their finances in a more practical and effective way.
In this context, more innovations are planned for 2024. The Central Bank recently presented the “Pix Management Report – Creation and Early Stages 2020-2022”, a document detailing the new features under development. So, see below how these updates may positively impact citizens!

The new Pix feature will allow recurring payments to be made automatically, resembling the continuous debit option offered by financial institutions. Therefore, to take advantage of this resource, the payer will only need to grant permission for the operation once, eliminating the need to carry out the process every month.
In this way, this innovation removes the need to plan or make manual transfers, since many bills already offer the option of paying via Pix. Additionally, it ensures that the debit occurs on the correct day, consequently avoiding fines and late payment charges.
Therefore, the Central Bank plans to make this resource available to all Pix users, without requiring them to open a specific account for this purpose. According to the document, the expected launch is in April 2024.

The institution also briefly mentioned offline Pix, which will work without an internet connection, with the aim of facilitating transactions. This function will be useful, for example, for paying tolls, public transportation fares, and parking fees.
Additionally, the report anticipates the launch of an alternative channel in October, aimed at processing Pix payments that do not require priority. This channel will focus especially on transaction scheduling, with the goal of not overloading the mechanism's main channel.
