Recently, experts reviewed the Desenrola Brasil bill, the federal debt renegotiation scheme. Now, instead of focusing only on consumers with bad credit, the program may place individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs) at the top of the list.

Changes to Desenrola focus on supporting microentrepreneurs

The person responsible for the amendments, Congressman Alencar Santana (PT-SP), introduced the idea of specific auctions within Desenrola for microentrepreneurs. This way, this group will have an advantage without having to compete with entities with greater financial power.
“Putting a large financial institution on an equal footing with a smaller retailer is not fair. We need to balance the scales according to the size of the creditor,” argues Santana.
It is important to emphasize that the federal government allocated R$ 8 billion from the Operations Guarantee Fund (FGO) to the program. However, the funds managed by Banco do Brasil do not fully meet the needs of people in debt. This fact highlights the importance of specific auctions.

The movement to revise the text of Desenrola comes amid a competitive scenario for FGO resources. Allocating part of this fund to the government's new program ended up reducing the funds allocated to Pronampe.
There is also concern that the credit allocated to entrepreneurs through Pronampe will run out this September. According to the Ministry of Finance, the injection of R$ 1 billion aims to ensure the program's continuation.
In light of this, Deputy Alencar Santana emphasizes that Desenrola will not only help Pronampe beneficiaries but will also bring broad benefits to the economic sector.
