To make this opportunity a reality, the government launched the registration process this month for creditors eligible to join this negotiation.

From August 28 to September 9, companies that are owed money and wish to join Desenrola Brasil will be able to register.

This phase is essential, as it establishes a prerequisite for creditors to be ready to formalize agreements in the program’s subsequent stage, which is scheduled to begin in September.

Therefore, opening registration for interested companies on these dates establishes a crucial window for organizing and preparing for the upcoming agreement phase.

In this way, the government, through Desenrola Brasil, aims to establish a favorable setting for resolving debts, encouraging productive interaction between debtors and creditors.

On July 17, the first phase of the national debt resolution program, Desenrola Brasil, was launched.

It is important to note that this program seeks to provide settlement options for those with debts and will remain active until December of this year.

Initially, it offered the opportunity to address debts acquired only from banks, provided they were registered by December 2022.

Those classified in Tier 2, that is, in the initial settlement stage, are people with an income of up to R$20,000.

Significantly, banks participating in Desenrola Brasil do not need to register in advance to join; they only need to agree to the government guidelines.

It is worth noting that the country’s largest financial institutions have fully joined Desenrola Brasil.

In return, all of them will gain tax benefits, meaning a reduction in their tax obligations.

As for the agreements that begin in September, the government has already opened registrations for creditor companies that wish to settle their debts.

This registration process takes place on the Creditor Portal, requiring the proper identification of the corporation or institution's legal representative.

Beginning of the new stage of Desenrola Brasil

According to the information provided by the government, creditors can register for the Desenrola Brasil program until September 9.

At this stage, they must list their debts. Afterwards, they may participate in an auction where they will be evaluated based on the discount they offer.

As well as their ability to be covered by the Operations Guarantee Fund (FGO).

For those in default to engage effectively, they must create new accounts on the gov.br portal.

The need to obtain silver or gold certification should also be emphasized.

This validation is vital for accessing the Desenrola Brasil platform. Thus, when the agreement stage begins, debtors will be authorized to settle with the companies.

This stage, Track 1, is especially aimed at debtors who meet the following criteria:

Those with debts of up to R$ 5,000 currently listed as delinquent;

People with a monthly income of up to two minimum wages;

Citizens registered in the Single Registry for Federal Government Social Programs (CadÚnico).

In short, the intention of this action is to give debtors a real chance to deal with their debts in a fair and accessible way.

Thus offering them some relief, considering their level of debt, income, and socioeconomic status.
