Caixa makes PLR payment to its employees this Wednesday
The news of the anticipation of this benefit comes from the National Confederation of Financial Sector Workers (Contraf-CUT). The bank will disburse an average of R$ 8,327.00 to its employees. Therefore, the amounts vary according to the position each individual holds at Caixa.
In addition, the Secretariat for Coordination and Governance of State-Owned Enterprises (Sest) authorized an increase in the percentage of dividends to be distributed, from 25% to 75%.
Therefore, Sest granted Caixa authorization to allocate 54% of the profit allowed for the PLR payment. Positions such as National Superintendent, National Manager, and Executive Manager will receive, for example, an advance payment of R$ 11,849.74 each.

The right to this benefit extends to employees with a formal contract. The company's earnings are crucial in determining the amount to be paid. In addition, the company has the option of making this payment in a single installment or dividing it into two.
However, companies are not obligated to grant this benefit. Therefore, it is more of a company bonus for its employees than an employment obligation. The amount also has no predefined standard. Thus, a collective agreement or consultation with the relevant labor union is necessary to reach a consensus on the amount.
Finally, the duration of the contract does not affect receipt of the PLR; therefore, even temporary employees are entitled to receive the amount.
