Bolsa Família Beneficiaries: Municipalities Issue Crucial Alerts!

Bolsa Família program participants need to stay up to date on news regarding the benefit. In each municipality, benefit administration is handled by local entities, which keep beneficiaries informed as necessary.

Alerts, such as those concerning compliance with program requirements, are frequent. In other words, there are obligations that beneficiaries must fulfill to continue receiving the assistance. Municipalities therefore often ask these citizens to keep up with health monitoring, one of the requirements.

Other notifications may be related to initiatives that will be implemented with beneficiaries, such as meetings to clarify information about the benefit or to update registration details.

Loss of Bolsa Família threatens 579 families in Natal

The Municipal Department of Labor and Social Assistance (Semtas) of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, recently sent an alert to Bolsa Família beneficiaries. According to Semtas, a total of 579 families are at risk of losing the benefit because they have not withdrawn the amount owed.

It is important to highlight that beneficiaries must use the benefit amount within 90 days after the deposit. Otherwise, this amount returns to the public treasury and the citizen may be removed from the program.

According to Andréia Melo, who is responsible for the Cadastro Único, failure to withdraw the money is interpreted as an indication that the family does not need it. “It is essential that families withdraw the money, as it cannot remain accumulated,” she emphasized.

Citizens of Natal can check the list of beneficiaries at risk in the Natal Digital app.

“We urge these people to check the city government's app urgently and claim the payment,” requested Secretary Ana Valda Galvão.

To check this information, citizens must:

  1. First, download the Natal Digital app if they do not already have it;
  2. Access the services tab;
  3. Click on Cadastro Único;
  4. Finally, select the Bolsa Família Benefit Inquiry option.

You will need to provide the NIS (Social Identification Number) to continue.

Always remember that Bolsa Família may be canceled for various reasons, including:

  • Failure to access or withdraw Bolsa Família;
  • Outdated registration;
  • Incorrect information;
  • Inconsistency in the income amount.

In addition, those with questions can also check the Caixa Tem app, as well as visit Caixa branches and the CRAS in their city.

Sapucaia do Sul will hold informational meetings

The city of Sapucaia do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul, has also been promoting actions related to Bolsa Família. In this context, through its Education, Health, and Social Development departments, informational meetings are being held for program beneficiaries.

These meetings have been taking place in schools within the municipal education network on Wednesdays. The actions emphasize the importance of complying with the program's rules, ensuring the comprehensive development of children and all family members.

The requirements include, for example, minimum school attendance and vaccination, among others. Therefore, the objective is to connect Bolsa Família with other public health and education policies.

Who can apply for Bolsa Família?

Recently, the new federal government administration relaunched the Bolsa Família program with new amounts and reaffirmed the need to comply with its rules. Thus, the program's new format seeks to assist families by taking their composition into account.

In addition, the new model emphasizes integrating the benefit with other public policies. Therefore, it is essential to comply with the program's rules so that beneficiaries can also access healthcare, education, and social assistance services.

To be eligible for Bolsa Família, per capita income must be no more than R$ 218 per month. In other words, if one family member receives a minimum wage of R$ 1,302 in a household of six people, the per capita income is R$ 217. Thus, it is below the limit, and this family will be entitled to receive the benefit.

Additionally, it is necessary to be registered with the Cadastro Único, ensuring that the information is accurate and up to date. In this context, the beneficiary must update their information every two years, even if there have been no changes.

To register, individuals must contact the municipal social assistance service centers, such as CRAS, for example. At that time, they must bring the documents of all family members.

However, inclusion in the program is not immediate. The government will analyze all the information to verify whether the family meets the requirements. In addition, there must be room in the public budget to include more people.
