With Bolsa Família, some women already receive more than R$1000
Thousands of beneficiaries are receiving assistance that may exceed R$1,000. With the regulation of the program, a fixed payment of R$600 is guaranteed to all families benefiting from Bolsa Família. It is worth noting that, according to the Federal Government's recent explanation, each family member is entitled to a benefit of R$142. However, if the family composition is not sufficient to reach the fixed payment of R$600, the government ensures payment of the supplementary amount.
Additional Bolsa Família Bonuses
In addition to the basic payment, Bolsa Família also grants a bonus of R$ 150 for up to two children from zero to six years of age. This is a supplementary resource that helps the family cover the costs of raising young children.
Bolsa Família also provides an extra R$ 50 for pregnant women, nursing mothers and young people between seven and 18 years of age. This resource was announced by the Federal Government in March, when the program was officially resumed.

Example: a mother with 3 young children, aged 2, 4 and 6. Since there are four people in the family, the basic benefit is R$ 142 x 4, which amounts to R$ 568. The federal government then supplements the benefit to reach the minimum of R$ 600.
In addition to the R$ 600, the family will receive another R$ 150 for each child, since they are all under 7 years old. The final Bolsa Família amount will be R$ 600 plus R$ 450(R$150×3), that is, R$ 1,050.
Eligibility for Bolsa Família
To qualify for Bolsa Família, the family must have a monthly income of up to R$ 218 per person. In other words, the family's total income, divided by the number of members, must be less than R$ 218. For example, let's consider a single mother raising three young children. Working as a day laborer, she earns R$ 800 per month. Since the children do not work, this R$ 800 is the family's only income. Dividing R$ 800 (total income) by four (number of people in the family), we get R$ 200. Since R$ 200 is less than R$ 218, this mother and her three children are entitled to receive Bolsa Família.
