This revelation led to legal proceedings being brought against the Federal Government, Caixa, Dataprev, and the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD). 3.7 million Auxílio Brasil beneficiaries may receive the amount from the lawsuit
According to the perspective of the presiding judge, the defendants failed to safeguard the data of Auxílio Brasil beneficiaries. As a result, the legal documents indicate that 3.7 million citizens had their information compromised.
Thus, the defendants will have to compensate each of the 3.7 million affected individuals with R$ 15,000, totaling R$ 56 billion. The judge instructed Caixa to inform everyone who will receive the amount.
