Employees in this state are celebrating a significant increase in their food allowance, affectionately called “coxinha voucher.” Check whether you are among those benefiting!
A notable increase took place in the food allowance, the “coxinha voucher,” for public servants in this state. The measure was made official last Wednesday (21), in the Official Gazette of the Union.
Employees of the Court of Justice of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul will have access to the increased allowance starting July 1. Thus, the new amount rose to R$ 2 thousand, representing a 33% increase compared to the previous amount.
The “coxinha voucher” was previously worth R$ 1.5 thousand and had remained unchanged for a long period. The purpose of this change is to address the lag and rising inflation that have emerged since the last adjustment.
Why did employees receive an increase in the allowance?
According to the Court of Justice of the State, the allowance adjustment took into account the institution’s current financial capacity.
The president of the MS Court of Justice, appellate judge Sérgio Fernandes Martins, assures that there is an ongoing commitment to increase employee compensation, as seen in the case of the “snack allowance”.
According to the most recent update from the Transparency Portal, the MS Judiciary has approximately 3,574 civil servants at different levels.
Federal employees’ “snack allowance” increased in 2023
The Federal Government, through an ordinance issued by the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services, adjusted the food allowance for federal employees by approximately 43.6% in March of this year.
Therefore, the amount, which had remained at R$ 458 since 2016, was increased by approximately R$ 200, totaling R$ 658 as of the first day of May. The measure applies to the country’s entire direct, foundational, and autonomous federal public administration.
Finally, the possibility of the adjustment came through the reallocation of resources and personal expenses by the Ministry of Planning and Budget, without implying an increase in the investment amount for the “snack allowance”.
