The Desenrola Brasil, a debt restructuring plan implemented by the federal government together with banking institutions, has attracted countless Brazilian citizens. According to a study conducted by the Brazilian Confederation of Banks (Confebran) in collaboration with Ipepes, seven out of ten participants have already joined or plan to join the plan. In this text, we will detail this project and its effect on the Brazilian community.

The Increase in Participation in Desenrola Brasil

The study showed that participation in the Desenrola Brasil has intensified since its launch. In June, before its official debut, 65% of participants expressed curiosity, while 28% had no desire to participate. However, in the recent survey, conducted between August 28 and September 1, 73% of those surveyed have already joined or intend to join the plan, and only 24% reject the idea.

It can be observed that participation is more pronounced in the North region, with 82% of participants confirming that they have already joined or intend to join the plan. Moreover, among those with a monthly household income of up to two minimum wages, the participation rate reached 77%. This indicates that Desenrola Brasil is fulfilling its goal of assisting the most vulnerable.

Expansion of Restructuring Alternatives

Even though the first stage of Desenrola Brasil, active since July, covers bank debts of customers with household incomes between two minimum wages and R$ 20,000, several banks have expanded restructuring alternatives to a broader audience. This expansion has no restrictions, but the tax incentives offered to banks are exclusive to the program's target audience.

However, it is worth noting that the low-income segment will officially be included in the Desenrola Brasil this month, and the restructurings will be backed by the Treasury. This measure will give participants greater peace of mind, encouraging participation.

Growing Awareness of Desenrola Brasil

One aspect highlighted by the survey is the growing public awareness of Desenrola Brasil. In June, only 45% of those surveyed recognized the program, but in the current study, that figure rose to 70%. This indicates effective promotion of the program by the government and banks, reaching an increasing audience.

Brazilian Community Debt

The study also focused on the level of indebtedness among Brazilians this year. The data indicate that 25% of respondents feel more indebted compared to last year, an increase from June, when that figure was 20%. In February, only 15% felt more indebted.

On the other hand, 38% feel less indebted in 2022 compared to 2021, a slight decrease from 40% in June and 53% in February. These statistics show that, although debt is a problem for many, the Desenrola Brasil has played a crucial role in alleviating this situation.

The Desenrola Brasil has proven to be a valuable resource for Brazilians, offering ways to restructure debts and helping to reduce indebtedness. Participation in the program has been notable, particularly in the North of the country and among those with lower incomes.

With growing awareness of the program, more Brazilians can benefit from Desenrola Brasil. The program’s expansion and the Treasury guarantee add greater reliability for its participants, encouraging restructuring.

It should be emphasized that Desenrola Brasil not only assists with debt restructuring but also strengthens the national economy. By reducing delinquency, the plan helps consolidate the banking system and boosts consumption.

Finally, if you are facing financial challenges and have outstanding debts, do not miss the opportunity to learn more and take advantage of Desenrola Brasil’s proposals. Restructuring can be your first step toward regaining financial control and establishing a safer and more prosperous future.
