The Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Hunger Alleviation (MDS) determines the program's beneficiaries. The MDS checks each beneficiary's data monthly with Dataprev, ensuring that they meet the Bolsa Família rules.

Who is eligible for Bolsa Família?

Remember that, to receive Bolsa Família in August, it is necessary to comply with the program's rules and the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico), always keeping federal data up to date.
The family's monthly per capita income must not exceed R$ 218 to be eligible for Bolsa Família in August. Thus, a mother who earns R$ 800 and has three eligible young children divides her income by four, resulting in R$ 200, below R$ 218.
In addition, families must fulfill commitments in health and education, such as:
- Attend prenatal care;
- Follow the vaccination schedule;
- Monitor the nutrition of children up to 7 years old;
- Ensure 60% school attendance for children aged 4 to 5 and 75% for those aged 6 to 18 who have not completed basic education.
They must also renew their Cadastro Único at least every 24 months.
August Bolsa Família schedule
Below are the program’s payment dates in August:
- NIS ending in 1 – August 18;
- NIS ending in 2 – August 21;
- NIS ending in 3 – August 22;
- NIS ending in 4 – August 23;
- NIS ending in 5 – August 24;
- NIS ending in 6 – August 25;
- NIS ending in 7 – August 28;
- NIS ending in 8 – August 29;
- NIS ending in 9 – August 30;
- NIS ending in 0 – August 31.
Vale Gás payment also in August

With August approaching, the MDS is also planning payments for the Auxílio Gás Program. However, not all Bolsa Família beneficiaries will receive the benefit this month.
Who is eligible?
The Vale Gás Program provides the benefit to all families registered with Cadastro Único (CadÚnico) if their monthly income per person does not exceed half the minimum wage.
Today, around 40 million families meet these requirements in CadÚnico. More than 20 million of them also receive Bolsa Família, with the same income limit.
The Vale Gás helps with the purchase of cooking gas, ensuring vulnerable families have access to this daily resource. With this, the government aims to support low-income families and improve their quality of life.
