Bolsa Família, a benefit granted by the Federal Government to families experiencing social vulnerability, indigence, or extreme poverty, may occasionally be suspended. This happens even when the family meets all the criteria required by the program.

Why was Bolsa Família blocked?
The program is temporary. In other words, the family continues to receive the benefit as long as it maintains its condition of economic vulnerability. If the family stops meeting the required criteria or fails to update its data in CadÚnico, the program stops the payments.
It is also essential to emphasize the criteria for:
- Vaccination;
- School attendance;
- Beneficiaries’ health and monitoring.
To remain in the program, it is necessary to meet these criteria.
Is there any quick measure to take if the program is blocked?
When the benefit is interrupted, beneficiaries are notified through the Caixa Tem app (Android and iOS) or the Bolsa Família app (Android and iOS). One of the reasons for this suspension is the failure to renew registration data in CadÚnico, which is a critical step.
Therefore, if the benefit is interrupted, it is possible to go to the nearest CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center) to update the family's registration data. It is important to note that the average period for the benefit to be unblocked is 90 days. If the suspension occurs even though the family is entitled to the benefit, retroactive payments will be made.
Another reason that may lead to suspension is an increase in income. Currently, to be eligible for the program, the family's per capita income must be no more than R$ 218.00. If the income exceeds this amount but remains within the limit of half the minimum wage (R$ 660) per person, the family qualifies for the protection rule.

This rule ensures that the benefit continues to be paid for up to 2 years, provided that the per capita income is less than half the minimum wage, but reduces the benefit amount by half. Payment schedule for August
The program generally makes payments during the last 15 days of the month, setting the dates based on the final digit of the beneficiaries’ NIS (Social Identification Number). This month, payments will be made between August 18 and 31, according to the following schedule:
- August 18: Payment for NIS numbers with final digit 1;
- August 21: Payment for NIS numbers with final digit 2;
- August 22: Payment for NIS numbers with final digit 3;
- August 23: Payment for NIS numbers with final digit 4;
- August 24: Payment for NIS numbers with final digit 5;
- August 25: Payment for NIS numbers with final digit 6;
- August 28: Payment for NIS numbers with final digit 7;
- August 29: Payment for NIS numbers with final digit 8;
- August 30: Payment for NIS numbers with final digit 9;
- August 31: Payment for NIS with final digit 0.
