Examine the innovation introduced by Banco Inter and identify who benefits from the new credit option offered by the institution.
Aware of the obstacles faced by small and medium-sized businesses when seeking financing, especially in times of crisis, a new credit option was launched by Banco Inter, which will remain available until December 31. We are talking about FGI PEAC Inter Empresas.
FGI PEAC, short for the Emergency Credit Access Program, is an approach adopted by BNDES, based on Law No. 14,042, of August 19, 2020. The purpose of the program is to simplify access to credit for Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs) and micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, so they can maintain or expand their business operations.
How does FGI PEAC work?
FGI PEAC operates as a guarantee scheme. Therefore, the loan risk is divided between BNDES (Brazilian Development Bank) and the financial institution, in this case, Banco Inter. Credit is available to:
Individual Microentrepreneurs;
Micro, small, and medium-sized businesses;
Associations;
Private law foundations and cooperatives (excluding credit cooperatives);
Independent truck drivers (for the purchase of capital goods).
Certain requirements must be met to access the funds, such as having headquarters in Brazil and annual gross revenue of up to R$ 300 million. In addition, Banco Inter's program offers reduced interest rates and extended repayment terms.
