Recently, the announcement of the Federal Government program granting rebates of R$ 2,000 to R$ 8,000 on popular cars was made and enthusiastically welcomed by many Brazilian citizens. However, last Wednesday (14), Finance Minister Fernando Haddad stated that expanding the funds allocated to the initiative is not possible.
This means that once the designated funding runs out, no further discounts will be provided. In total, R$ 1.5 million was mobilized to implement the program. The amount will be distributed and allocated among three vehicle categories.

According to data released by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC), approximately 30% of the amount allocated to the program has already been used by participating companies.
Funds in the vehicle price reduction program
According to the information released about the new program, the funds will be applied as follows:
R$ 500 million for cars;
R$ 700 million for trucks;
R$ 300 million for vans and buses.
As soon as all the funds are spent, the program will be definitively ended; this is indicated by Haddad's statements this Wednesday.
The National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (FENABRAVE), an entity representing approximately 7,400 vehicle dealerships, also suggests that, if the government is unable to increase the amount, the program should be ended in about 30 days.
