The purpose of this assistance is to support families with children from 0 to under 6 years old and a monthly income of R$ 89 per person. In this way, the government aims to combat inequality and provide support for the essential needs of each family unit.
As reported by Onélia Santana, head of SPS, “tackling hunger is among the goals and is a duty of the State Government. The financial transfer, made through the Mais Infância Card, represents a tangible initiative against hunger for families at serious social risk,” she stated.
The aid applies both to the capital and to other locations in Ceará. Each family unit receives R$ 100 per month in aid. Priority is given to groups living in makeshift places, without a bathroom or toilet, or residing in lodgings, boarding houses, and similar accommodations.

Beneficiaries are selected based on information from the Federal Government’s Cadastro Único. Therefore, the list of families is sent to the cities. The city then seeks to contact these families to validate their eligibility for the Mais Infância Card.
However, registered groups may go to a Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) to check availability. It is important to emphasize that the aid is granted per family unit, not per child.
