This Tuesday (26), Caixa Econômica Federal is making the September installment payment to another group of beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família. This month's deposits are nearly complete; however, millions of people in Brazil will still receive the country's most robust income transfer program.
This week, Caixa has already made payments to Bolsa Família beneficiaries whose Social Identification Number (NIS) ends in 6. It is important to mention that the program's deposits are made during the last 10 business days of each month, according to the beneficiaries' NIS final digit. Thus, on each business day, a different group can access the amount in their accounts.

Today (26), beneficiaries whose NIS ends in 7 are receiving the payment. They can withdraw the amount through Caixa Tem; however, those who wish to withdraw it in cash can go to a bank branch to carry out the transaction.
Last days for the September Bolsa Família
In short, the September Bolsa Família payment cycle began on the 18th. Deposits will continue until the end of this week, meaning that some groups of beneficiaries are still waiting to receive the benefit.
See the Bolsa Família payment schedule for September 2023:
- NIS ending in 1: September 18 (RELEASED);
- NIS ending in 2: September 19 (RELEASED);
- NIS ending in 3: September 20 (RELEASED);
- NIS ending in 4: September 21 (RELEASED);
- NIS ending in 5: September 22 (RELEASED);
- NIS ending in 6: September 25 (RELEASED);
- NIS ending in 7: September 26 (RELEASED);
- NIS ending in 8: September 27;
- NIS ending in 9: September 28;
- NIS ending in 0: September 29.
The NIS enables the Federal Government to track citizens who receive social benefits. Therefore, it is crucial to keep personal documents and data up to date to avoid the risk of cancellation of the Bolsa Família.
This week, Caixa will make three more deposits for beneficiaries with NIS ending in 8, 9, and 0. Families included in these groups are eagerly awaiting access to the installment amount as soon as it becomes available.
Minimum installment of R$ 600
The federal government guarantees a minimum payment of R$ 600 to each Bolsa Família beneficiary. Therefore, the benefit will not be less than this amount, except for beneficiaries who previously took out the Auxílio Consignado, since the loan deductions are applied directly to the benefit amount.
However, Bolsa Família has another provision, the Citizenship Income Benefit, which guarantees a payment of R$ 142 for each family member registered with CadÚnico.
If this provision were applied in isolation, families consisting of a single person would receive only R$ 142 per month. However, since the minimum installment is R$ 600, the government supplements the amount. This applies to families of up to four members, who would be entitled to a maximum of R$ 568 (R$ 142 x 4) per month.
When the family has more than four members, the government does not supplement the amount, since the benefit exceeds R$ 600. For example, a family of five receives R$ 710 per month (R$ 142 x 5).
Additional Bolsa Família Benefits
These amounts are the basic benefit, but the Bolsa Família has no ceiling for the amounts received. Thus, beneficiaries can receive more than R$ 600, and this has been common in recent months due to the additional benefits granted by the government.
Here are the additional Bolsa Família benefits:

- Early Childhood Benefit: since March 2023, the government has paid R$ 150 per child up to six years old.
- Variable Family Benefit: grants an additional R$ 50 for children and young people aged seven to 18, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women in the family.
In practical terms, a household with two adults and three children aged 2, 4, and 6 will receive a monthly amount of R$ 710 (R$ 142 x 5 = R$ 710), plus R$ 150 for each child up to six years old (R$ 150 x 3 = R$ 450). Therefore, the total benefit will be R$ 1,160 per month (R$ 710 + R$ 450 = R$ 1,160).
In addition, the amount may be even higher if there are more members entitled to additional subsidies, such as pregnant women or children and adolescents between seven and 18 years old.
