And, judging by recent signs, the organization plans to expand its offerings with a brand-new credit card, introduced this month.

Recognizing the remarkable growth of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) on the national scene, as well as the growing demand for credit, Mercado Pago presents a proposal aimed at transforming the merchant’s journey.
Who is Mercado Pago’s unprecedented card intended for?
The brand’s latest launch is a corporate credit card bearing the Visa logo, with no annual fee, and offering installments of up to 18 payments at no extra cost for transactions on the platform. With this step, the company hopes to strengthen ties with SMEs, which already represent a substantial share of the national Mercado Livre.
This is because expectations are promising: around 35% of SMEs that benefit from the platform's services anticipate growth of at least 30% in 2023, and many see credit as an essential tool in this growth.
Túlio Oliveira, senior vice president responsible for Mercado Pago, highlights the role of open finance in guiding the company. “Currently, 80% of new credit offerings already have access to this data,” he states.
