The Brazilian government announced a new financial aid payment, worth R$1,412, intended to mitigate the psychological effects of femicide on affected children and young people. Therefore, this program, called Acolher Eles e Elas, is an initiative of the Federal District Secretariat for Women (SMDF) and aims to provide financial support to at least 352 minors under 18.
The aid will be distributed directly and is not linked to other social benefits, thus ensuring additional support for eligible families. In this way, beneficiaries may receive more than one benefit at the same time, which can be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this new aid, families must meet specific criteria established by the SMDF. The department team will conduct active outreach, contacting families through the numbers (61) 3330-3118 and (61) 3330-3105. Thus, after eligibility is confirmed, the benefit card, provided by Banco de Brasília, will be sent to the address provided by the family within 30 days. It is important that families answer calls from SMDF or contact the indicated numbers to apply for the benefit.
Documentation required for the benefit
To confirm receipt of the benefit, families must present a series of documents during the appointment scheduled by SMDF. These include the victim's police report, proof of residence, proof of relationship with the orphan, personal documents of the orphan and the guardian, and a vulnerability form provided by SMDF. Therefore, this benefit represents concrete support for young people who are indirect victims of domestic violence and femicide, offering financial assistance during a challenging period.
