In September, no payment will be made; however, many are already seeking information about the October payment. The Federal Government offers Auxílio-Gás, a measure to help low-income families ease the costs of cooking gas. This contribution benefits Brazilians’ budgets by reducing expenses.
Recently, the ways to check the availability of this benefit in October were announced. Thus, those who receive Auxílio-Gás can already check whether the amount will be deposited next month and whether there are any outstanding issues or requirements that have not yet been met.
Receiving Bolsa Família does not guarantee Auxílio-Gás for everyone.
Introduced in 2021 during the administration of then-President Jair Bolsonaro, this benefit, also called Vale-Gás, became part of Bolsa Família, which was reorganized in March under President Lula’s administration.

It is one of the most significant forms of assistance for Brazilians, since gas represents a considerable portion of household expenses.
Thus, Auxílio-Gás is intended for families registered in the Cadastro Único with a monthly income per person equal to or less than half the minimum wage. It is worth mentioning that this benefit can be combined with others, such as Bolsa Família.
However, it is crucial to emphasize that not everyone registered with Bolsa Família will automatically have access to Vale-Gás. According to the Federal Government, the distribution of the benefit prioritizes:
- People who updated their Cadastro Único within the last 24 months.
- Individuals with the lowest per capita income.
- Families with more members.
- Beneficiaries of the Auxílio Brasil Program.
- Those whose registration was validated by the administrator, using the results of checks, if available.
This method seeks to direct the benefit to the most vulnerable families, according to specific criteria defined by the Federal Government.
How to check Vale-Gás
Auxílio-Gás beneficiaries receive the amount every two months, with the last deposit having taken place in August. Therefore, the next one will occur in October, totaling R$ 112.
There are several ways to check your eligibility and obtain information about Auxílio-Gás:
- Bolsa Família App: Open the app (Android or iOS) and select “Benefits” or “View Installments”.
- Caixa Tem (Android or iOS): After logging in, go to “Statement” and search for “AUX GÁS”.
- CadÚnico: Access the official website or download the corresponding app (Android or iOS) to check.
- Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship: Call 121, with your CPF and NIS (Social Identification Number) at hand.
Using one of the options above, you can check your eligibility for Auxílio-Gás, view payment dates, and obtain other crucial information.

As mentioned, Auxílio-Gás, due to its bimonthly nature, will not be deposited in September, since it was paid in August, with the next payment scheduled for October. However, the Bolsa Família payment schedule has already been released, following the order of the last digit of the NIS, as shown below:
