As a result, the bank will have to pay R$ 7.6 million for this reason. Time 4 Fun (T4F), the festival's owner in Brazil, must also pay amounts for this reason. Find out the grounds for Procon's decision below.

Bradesco and T4F Penalized for Misleading Advertising

The misleading advertisement occurred during the sale of tickets for this year's Lollapalooza. This happened because T4F announced that holders of Bradesco, Next, and Digio cards would receive a 15% discount on the ticket, with prices starting at R$ 900.

However, when making the purchase, consumers received a notification stating that the aforementioned discount was already included in the R$ 900. According to Procon-MG, this “violates what was being advertised” by both companies.

Thus, in addition to the R$ 7.6 million fine imposed on Bradesco, the agency also fined T4F in the amount of RS 3,696. Both corporations have the possibility of challenging Procon's decision.

The false advertising by Bradesco and T4F was also broadcast on social media platforms. The corporations insisted that the discount would be reflected in the total amount. Therefore, they indicated that the discount did not apply to the R$ 900.

Therefore, Bradesco and T4F violated fundamental consumer rights because, according to Procon, this infringes “particularly the right to clear and accurate information about products and services and protection against false and harmful advertising”.

The 2024 edition of Lollapalooza has already been confirmed. Advance ticket sales for the event, exclusively for Bradesco customers, begin on September 28. Accordingly, they will enjoy a 15% discount, as well as payment in up to 5 interest-free installments. Once again, the festival will take place at the Interlagos Racetrack in São Paulo (SP).
